Job summary

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists (Band 5/6) to join the Blood Transfusion and Haematology service across TVPS sites. The post involves 28.5 hours per week on a 24/7 shift pattern including nights and weekends.

Applicants should have IBMS accreditation/portfolio progress for Band 6 and HCPC registration, with experience in NHS Haematology/Blood Transfusion and IT proficiency (Word, Excel).

Qualifications

• HCPC registration to practice as Biomedical Scientist.
• IBMS Specialist Portfolio progression for Band 6.
• Experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).

Responsibilities

• Rotation through all sections within the department to gain broad experience.
• Lead in achieving daily workload targets with effective teamwork and prioritisation.
• Analyse pathology specimens and provide technically accurate results.
• Support integration of Haematology into Pathology from IT and staffing perspectives.
• Participate in out-of-hours rota including nights and weekends.
