Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Band 5 Biomedical Scientist to join the Haematology and Blood Transfusion team. The post involves full-time rotation across all sections and participation in out-of-hours shifts after training.

HCPC registered BMS with experience in a high throughput laboratory is required. The department is UKAS accredited and IBMS approved for training, located at Torbay Hospital in Torquay, Devon.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration as Biomedical Scientist (BMS).
• Experience in a high throughput Haematology and Blood Transfusion setting.
• UKAS accreditation familiarity or experience is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Rotate through all Haematology and Blood Transfusion sections to provide a quality service.
• Plan and organise work with trainees and MLA staff, ensuring timely results.
• Maintain stocks of reagents and consumables; notify if stock is low.
• Run analysers and instrumentation according to SOPs and authorise results.
• Participate in out-of-hours shift pattern after training period.
