Job summary

Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Biomedical Scientist to join the Haematology/BT team. You must be HCPC registered with an IBMS-accredited Biomedical Science degree and ideally the IBMS Specialist Certificate for Band 6 roles.

The department operates a 24/7 rota and requires robust analytical skills, accuracy, and ability to prioritise urgent work while maintaining high patient-care standards. Active participation in training is expected.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration and IBMS-accredited BSc are essential.
• BSc or equivalent in Biomedical Science required and IBMS Specialist Certificate desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide Haematology/BT service as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain high standards of patient care and respond to abnormal results promptly.
• Operate within rota-based patterns including nights, weekends and bank holidays.
