Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust invites a Specialist Biomedical Scientist (Haematology/Blood Transfusion) to join the northern site in Barnstaple. The role requires HCPC registration and an IBMS specialist portfolio, with a minimum of two years NHS laboratory experience.

You will work in a busy, supportive team and participate in 24/7 shift coverage. The department prioritises quality assurance, adherence to SOPs and ongoing development.

Formación

• HCPC registration with good technical competence in Haematology and Blood Transfusion.
• IBMS specialist portfolio or UK equivalent with at least 2 years NHS lab experience.

Responsabilidades

• Provide high-quality analytical, advisory and interpretive haematology and transfusion service.
• Maintain quality standards via SOPs, QC programmes, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Assist in staff training and development.
• Participate in out-of-hours shifts and on-call as autonomous practitioner.
• Support equipment and troubleshoot in the department.
• Contribute to audit, quality management and development/trial activities.
