Job summary

Qualifications

• Surgical setting experience of at least 6 months within the last 12 months.
• Proven NHS experience.

Responsibilities

• Managing clinical specimens.
• Following aseptic technique.
• Hand washing and infection control.
• Disposing of clinical waste.

• Assisting with endometrial ablation and biopsy.
• Assisting with hysteroscopic fibroid resection.
• Setting up the hysteroscopy trolley and stack system.

Job description

This is a six-month temporary assignment with 18 Week Support, an agency placing healthcare assistants across the South West, in an outpatient gynaecology hysteroscopy service. The post centres on patient observations, urine, pregnancy and blood glucose testing, and assisting clinicians during procedures such as LLETZ, endometrial ablation, biopsy and fibroid resection. Weekend working is offered, and the work sits alongside consultants and specialist teams. Proven NHS experience and recent surgical-setting experience are needed to be considered.
