Horizon Leisure Centres in Havant is seeking a Gym Team Leader to manage day-to-day gym operations and a frontline team, delivering high standards of service in a lively, welcoming environment.

You will lead recruitment, training, rosters, and health and safety compliance, while ensuring member induction, tailored fitness programmes, and excellent customer care.

The role offers 40 hours per week, a £28,000 salary, and opportunities for growth within a supportive, wellbeing-focused workplace.

Qualifications

• Fitness Industry professional with operational gym experience.
• Experience coaching or supervising colleagues within a team environment.
• Experience handling customer enquiries and resolving routine complaints.
• Experience promoting fitness services and engaging members.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, cleanliness and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment and establish a high-performing gym team, mentoring staff.
• Deliver positive leadership, ownership, and accountability; lead by example.
• Improve gym facilities and member offering to enhance experiences.
• Provide best-in-class member experience with excellent customer service and safety.
• Manage staff rota and cover across all opening hours.
• Ensure cleanliness and presentation of gym facilities is maintained.
• Induct new members and tailor fitness programmes, reviewing regularly.
