Job summary

Barnsley Music Service is seeking a Guitar Tutor to commence employment from January 2027, working five days a week with a 22-hour week and pro rata salary of £28,758–£36,494. The role involves teaching guitar/ukulele to whole classes and small groups in primary and secondary schools across the borough, with a permanent teacher's contract.

The post requires Enhanced DBS; the council offers teachers' pension, laptop and holidays, and flexible working opportunities.

Qualifications

• Teaching guitar/ukulele to whole classes of around 30 Key Stage Two age children in Primary Schools.
• Teaching guitar to small groups (3-4 children) and individuals in primary and secondary schools throughout the borough.
• Permanent, salaried position on Teachers' terms and conditions (unqualified scale 3-6) with pay during school holidays.
