Job summary

Barnsley Music Service are seeking a Guitar Tutor to join as a permanent, part-time post starting week of January 2027. The role involves delivering guitar/ukulele to classes of around 30 Key Stage Two children and smaller groups across primary and secondary schools in Barnsley.

The post offers 22 hours per week (4 days) with term-time pattern and pay with Teachers’ terms and conditions, including access to the Teachers’ pension, a corporate laptop, and opportunities for professional development

Qualifications

• Experience teaching guitar in school settings.
• Ability to engage large KS2 classes and groups.
• Good communication with school staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Teaching Guitar/Ukulele to whole classes of around 30 Key Stage Two age children in Primary Schools
• Teaching Guitar to small groups (3-4 children) and individuals in primary and secondary schools throughout the borough
• Working 5 days per week
