Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a production operative to operate packaging machinery in a safety-focused environment in Greater London. You will interpret job bags, run machines to meet quality and volume targets, and maintain housekeeping to pharmaceutical standards where applicable.

Applicants should be numerate, literate, self-motivated and a team player, able to work on own initiative. The role offers a culture of safety and opportunities within a global packaging leader.

Responsibilities

• Understand and interpret job bags (works instruction).
• Operate machine to meet quality standards and planned volume with minimum waste.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards in line with pharmaceutical standards.
• Follow operating procedures and quality policies and stay aware of all related policies.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and notify supervisor of maintenance needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Understanding and correctly interpreting the job bags (works instruction).
• To run the machine to meet the quality standards and planned volume to optimum output, using minimum waste.
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping to the pharmaceutical standards.
• Undertake all duties in accordance with current operating procedures and quality policies. The job holder should ensure that they are aware and understand all such policies and procedures.
• Perform general and routine maintenance of the machine and equipment and to advise the supervisor or senior management of any preventative or additional maintenance required.

Work Hours

• 3x 12 hour shifts per week rotating between 6:30am-6:30pm and 6:30pm-6:30am
