Job summary

Lakelovers Ambleside, part of Sykes Holiday Cottages, is seeking a Laundry Assistant to keep laundry and housekeeping running smoothly and guest-ready across the Ambleside properties.

You will work with cleaners, resolve laundry issues, and help maintain high standards. The role suits both full-time and part-time applicants and involves coordinating with suppliers and driving duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Calm under pressure, flexible and adaptable.
• Good numerical skills and ability to use initiative.
• Full, clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day laundry operations and liaise with suppliers.
• Count and check freshly laundered linen; record shortfalls or rejects.
• Deliver clean linen using fleet vehicles when required.
• Conduct property inspections, corrective cleaning, and special requests.
• Prepare linen for weekly departures and maintain stock levels.
• Manage soiled linen, keeping the area tidy before collection by suppliers.
• Provide practical feedback to support departmental performance.
• Promote excellent customer service to guests and owners.
• Undertake any additional duties within the scope of the role as requested
