Job summary

BaxterStorey is hiring a General Manager to oversee all guest services at a historic property in Beeston Lane, Nottingham. The role will manage 8 bedrooms, 5 meeting rooms and a team of 7 to deliver exceptional hospitality and seamless daily operations.

The position requires 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with occasional overnight stays and Sunday shifts; overtime is paid when not within weekly hours. You will drive service standards and ensure safety and compliance across the site.

Qualifications

• Background as a private guest house manager or boutique hotel manager.
• Understanding of guests service.
• Have a contagious passion for food and customer service.
• You draw satisfaction from managing, training, and supporting a team.
• Financially astute, you are very analytical and know how to create and maintain budgets and drive commercial performance.
• Excellent delegation and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• To be responsible for the opening and closing of the house at the start and end of a working week as well as daily if there are no overnight guests staying.
• Diary management of bookings for overnight guests, meeting and functions including dinners, special events etc.
• Full support of managing the on site team as well as H&S and Food Safety due diligence and processes. Guest House comprises of 8 bedrooms and 5 meeting rooms of varying sizes.
• This is a grade 2 listed building and therefore requires regular walk arounds for maintenance and to liaise with both the Operations Manager and Client to ensure all tasks and compliance are taken care of in good time.
