Job summary

Soho House welcomes guests with warmth and seats members according to bookings, delivering exceptional service. The Host collaborates with the floor team to ensure smooth table turnover and guest satisfaction and maintains strong knowledge of menus, allergies, and pairings.

Key duties include greeting members by name, handling inquiries, and managing Opera/OpenTable bookings, while addressing concerns in real time and supporting teamwork during busy periods.

Qualifications

• 2 - 3 years’ experience in similar capacity
• Thrive in fast-paced, high-volume environments and maintain calm, through quickly and effectively problem solving under pressure
• Must be hospitable, approachable, passionate about customer service and respectful towards colleagues and guests
• Must be able to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule and Club School
• Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed
• Ability to take direction, work in a team environment and autonomously

Responsibilities

• Welcome every member by name and guest with open arms and in a hospitable manner.
• Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
• Manage the Opera/OpenTable booking system to ensure members are seated according to their correct booking.
• In real-time ensure that any member related concerns are addressed and action items have been set, and management team have been notified.
• Build relationships with members and guest. Communicate red flags and positive feedback to management and wider team.
• Support floor team to prepare tables by setting up linens, cutlery and glasses.
• Have an outstanding knowledge of our menus to provide detailed information on the food, drink, allergies and pairings.
• Resolve member complaints, handling all member interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism.
• Uphold discretion and professionalism, especially when serving VIPs and PWKs.
• Contribute to team success, attending briefings, tastings, and assisting colleagues where needed.
