Job summary

Kemp Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a Vehicle Technician in Paisley. You will service, maintain and repair HGV vehicles, diagnose faults, and ensure compliance with DVSA standards. The role includes on-call duties and a structured 40-hour week with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience maintaining and repairing HGV vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Good mechanical and electrical knowledge.
• LGV/HGV Class 3 Licence or Level 3 Motor Mechanics qualification (LGV)

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGV vehicles.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Complete scheduled inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Carry out brake, safety and diagnostic checks.
• Accurately complete job cards and maintenance records.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained to DVSA and company standards.
• Work safely in line with Health & Safety procedures.
• Participate in the on-call rota as required.

Job description

Job Title: Vehicle Technician
Location: Paisley
Salary: £DOE
Shift Pattern: 40 hours per week

• Rotating shifts:
• • 6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday to Friday
  • 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
• On-call rota: 1 week in 4, including weekend cover.
• • On-call allowance: £15.75 per hour for holding the phone.
  • If called out, a minimum of 4 hours paid at time and a half.
  • On-call payments are in addition to the basic salary.
