Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is offering a Level 3 apprenticeship in Hyde's Income Services team. The apprentice will learn payment processing and financial administration while working with experienced colleagues.

Hybrid working options are available, with emphasis on numeracy and meticulous work to ensure payments such as Housing Benefit, DWP payments and Direct Debits are correctly reconciled and allocated.

Qualifications

• Good numeracy skills and close attention to detail.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive and enthusiastic approach to learning and development.

Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile customer payments, including Housing Benefit, DWP payments and Direct Debits
• Help investigate payment discrepancies and allocate payments to the correct customer accounts
• Support the review of unpaid Direct Debits and suspense accounts to reduce arrears and failed payments
• Assist with daily and monthly bank and financial reconciliations, including investigating discrepancies
• Work with colleagues across Hyde to build skills in administration, financial processing, customer service and business operations
