Job summary

CPXR is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join an established surfacing and groundworks contractor based in Medway, Kent. The role focuses on managing commercial and contractual aspects, preparing valuations, and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and profitably in collaboration with operational teams.

This position is suitable for an experienced Quantity Surveyor or an Assistant Quantity Surveyor ready to progress.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
• Background in groundworks, surfacing, civil engineering or general construction.
• Experience with valuations, variations, cost control and final accounts.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Good communication, organisational and negotiation skills.
• Proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial and contractual aspects of surfacing and groundworks projects.
• Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Monitoring project costs, budgets and profitability.
• Measuring and valuing completed works, variations and additional works.
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
• Supporting commercial reporting and ensuring projects remain financially controlled.
