Job summary

CPR Recruitment is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for an established civil engineering and groundworks contractor in Maidstone, Kent. The role focuses on managing commercial and contractual aspects, with responsibility for cost control, valuations and final accounts.

You will work across civil engineering and groundworks projects, supporting project teams and maintaining client and subcontractor relationships. A strong background in cost management and construction contracts is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or similar role.
• Background in civil engineering, groundworks, utilities, infrastructure or construction.
• Experience with cost control, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial and contractual aspects of civil engineering and groundworks projects.
• Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Monitoring project costs, budgets and forecasts to ensure commercial performance.
• Managing subcontractor accounts, payments, variations and valuations.
• Identifying, pricing and negotiating variations and additional works.
• Supporting project teams with commercial advice and cost management.
• Preparing monthly cost/value reports and providing accurate financial forecasts.
• Reviewing contracts, drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Building and maintaining relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
