Job summary

CMA Recruitment Group is partnering with a professional services organisation in Guildford to recruit an interim Group Senior Management Accountant. The role offers hybrid working and a clear path to permanent opportunities.

You will lead month-end close, statutory accounting, and provide insightful financial analysis across multiple regions and currencies while developing a small finance team.

• Oversee month-end and year-end close and associated reconciliations.

• Deliver margin, variance, revenue and profitability analysis; support budgeting and forecasting.
• Manage two direct reports and collaborate with operational teams to improve reporting processes.

Overview

CMA Recruitment Group is supporting an established professional services organisation based in Guildford to recruit an interim Group Senior Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic organisation recognised for its collaborative culture and commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

• Month‑end and year‑end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations, journal postings, bank reconciliations and sign‑off to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Lead statutory audit preparation, VAT reporting and compliance activities, maintaining robust financial controls and resolving accounting queries across the business.
• Deliver insightful financial analysis, including margin reporting, variance analysis, revenue and profitability reporting, while supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Manage and develop two direct reports, partnering with operational teams to resolve AR/AP issues and driving continuous improvements to reporting processes and financial systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within a multi‑region, multi‑currency finance environment, with strong technical accounting expertise and financial systems knowledge.
• Strong commercial awareness, able to analyse complex financial data and provide meaningful insights to support business performance and change initiatives.
• Previous people management experience, with the ability to lead, develop and support finance team members while engaging effectively with stakeholders.
• Highly organised and detail‑oriented, with advanced Excel skills and a proven ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and perform under pressure.
