Job summary

Ascent Recruitment is partnering with a fast-growing Manchester-based SME to appoint a Group Management Accountant. You will report to the Financial Controller as the number two, owning month-end across multiple group entities in a multi-currency environment.

You will drive process improvements using Excel and Power BI, support intercompany reconciliations and balance sheet activity, and assist audit and stakeholders across the business. Hybrid working and study support are provided.

Qualifications

• ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified or studying.
• Strong hands-on month-end experience in a multi-entity environment.
• Experience in SME or multi-entity settings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end processes across multiple group entities.
• Prepare management accounts, accruals, prepayments and fixed assets.
• Perform intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Drive improvements in finance processes, reporting and controls.
• Utilise Excel and Power BI to drive efficiencies across finance functions.
• Manage cash, bank reconciliations and payment runs.
• Support external audit and collaborate with stakeholders across the business.
• Support and guide the wider finance team.

Ascent Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a fast-growing, international SME in Manchester to appoint a Group Management Accountant.

Reporting to an excellent Financial Controller as their number two, this is a broad, hands-on role with responsibility for month-end across a complex multi-entity, multi-currency group.

You’ll get involved in:

• Owning month-end processes across multiple group entities
• Management accounts, accruals, prepayments and fixed assets
• Intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations
• Improving finance processes, reporting and controls
• Using Excel, Power BI and technology to drive efficiencies
• Cash management, bank reconciliations and payment runs
• Supporting audit and working with stakeholders across the business
• Supporting and guiding the wider finance team

We’re looking for someone who is ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified, part-qualified or studying, with strong hands-on month-end experience and a genuine interest in improving processes rather than simply maintaining them.

Experience within an SME or multi-entity environment would be particularly useful.
