As they continue their rapid growth journey, they are seeking to appoint a talented Group Financial Controller to help drive their financial strategy forward.
Role Summary:The newly appointed Group Financial Controller will be responsible for managing the company's financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, optimising financial performance, and providing strategic financial insights. This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic thinking and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the group's financial performance by consolidating results from multiple entities or business units.
- Develop and implement group-wide financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements, management reports, and performance dashboards for group leadership.
- Monitor group cash flow, working capital, and treasury activities to ensure financial stability.
- Identify opportunities to enhance profitability and improve cost efficiency across the group.
- Lead group-wide budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance in all jurisdictions.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making at the board and executive levels.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the finance teams across the group, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Drive financial transformation initiatives, such as system upgrades or process automations, to support the group's growth.
Qualifications & Skills:- Extensive experience in a senior financial role, ideally within a multi-entity or group structure.
- Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of group financial reporting, consolidation, and intercompany transactions.
- Proficiency in financial management systems and group reporting tools.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to navigate the complexities of a multi-entity environment and work across different regions or time zones.
- First-class communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
- Experience and training within a Top 4 or Top 10 accounting firm is preferred.
- Ability to lead, mentor and manage a small, but growing finance team.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, with good working knowledge of Excel.
- Experience in complex, fast-growing, and entrepreneurial environments, such as start-up, private equity, owner-managed, or investor-led operations, is preferred.
- Experience in e-commerce, data specialist, fintech, digital platforms, and similar would be a distinct advantage.
- The right to work in the UK, without expiry, such as citizenship, ILW, or pre/settlement status.
