The Role

We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our Financial Reporting & Control team. This role is a key part of our finance team, working to prepare, review, and manage the Group's internal and external financial reporting.

Over the last 18-24 months, Policy Expert has been investing in its finance team, evolving into a modern finance function to support the group's growth. Recently, Policy Expert was acquired 50% by private equity investor Cinven, alongside investment from the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). Consequently, the Group's financial reporting and control environment needs to continue maturing, including a potential GAAP conversion to IFRS this year.

You will have opportunities to contribute significantly to financial reporting and control, in a team that continues to grow, evolve, and improve.

Key duties will include:

1. Supporting the drafting and review of financial statements under FRS102, and advising on changes to accounting standards.
2. Drafting papers on key accounting matters for Audit and Reserving Committees.
3. Collaborating with the Group Financial Controller on accounting issues, with opportunities to present to senior management.
4. Managing the annual and interim audit processes.
5. Developing and documenting accounting processes, systems, and controls.
6. Providing accounting and reporting support to other teams, including investigating and reconciling accounting issues.
7. Supporting the record to report team with the monthly close process and driving timelines.
8. Overseeing group-level accounting entries, such as VAT, corporation tax, investments, debt, and equity.
9. Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy and completeness, and tracking action points.

Who are you:

• Likely to be your first move from practice at a top-4 audit firm, with experience as an audit manager or assistant manager.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles (FRS102) and IFRS.
• Experience resolving issues on key accounting estimates and judgments.
• Experience working in or auditing larger organizations with mature financial controls. Corporate/group accounting experience is essential.
• Willingness to collaborate and improve systems and processes.
• Qualified or part-qualified ACCA/ACA.
• Some knowledge of taxation principles, including corporation tax computations.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
