Trial Balance Consulting has been exclusively retained by a high-performing, entrepreneurial SME to recruit their new Group Director of Finance. This is a brand-new role in a business with three core brands across different industries, all growing rapidly. Until now, they've managed finances with consultancy-based financial management, but now, with increased turnover, a focus on the future, high employee headcount, and complex accounting needs, a new approach is required.

This role isn’t for any accountant. It blurs the responsibilities of a Finance Director and a CFO. It involves strategic planning, forecasting, budgeting, as well as day-to-day operations and reporting. The successful candidate will support a small team of transactional staff and work closely with talented directors.

Qualifications are flexible; you may be ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified, or have equivalent experience. The key qualities are commercial acumen, technical accounting expertise, and the ability to add value to a young, dynamic, and fast-paced SME.
