Job description

An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The position is office-based at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.

The successful candidate will:

• Have prior experience working within a busy credit control team,
• Possess strong financial understanding,
• Be capable of problem-solving,
• Be confident in leading a team,
• Be self-motivated and driven,
• Have excellent communication skills, as liaising with internal and external stakeholders is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

• Act as the main contact with Credit Insurers, monitoring insured limits, submitting claims, and negotiating renewals.
• Organise and lead monthly meetings with senior management.
• Provide management information on bad debts, debtor days, collections, and other reports.
• Manage cash collection for all Group companies.
• Ensure departmental systems and protocols are efficient and adhered to.
• Oversee the Credit Control Department and manage the team proactively.
• Handle credit applications and provide PODs.
• Make major or sensitive credit decisions.
• Control credit limits and manage litigation and insolvency issues.
• Set and review credit policies and manage credit notes.
• Assess risks for existing accounts and new applicants.
• Maintain strong relationships across departments.
• Review sales Terms and Conditions before approval.
• Visit customers and company sites as needed.
