Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Groundworks Supervisor for a National Grid Substation Project in WD25 8DT. You will directly supervise groundworks on site, ensuring safety and alignment with the programme while coordinating operatives and subcontractors.

Essential SSSTS and CSCS credentials apply, along with proven leadership and strong health and safety knowledge. The role covers drainage, excavation, concreting and finishing, with diligent reporting and planning support.

Qualifications

• SSSTS qualification (Essential).
• Valid CSCS Card.
• Experience in a Groundworks supervisory role.
• Proven leadership and communication capabilities.
• Strong health and safety knowledge.
• Experience on major infrastructure or civil projects desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of groundworks operations on site, ensuring all works are executed safely and in accordance with the project programme.
• Coordinate and manage operatives and subcontractors across multiple work fronts.
• Oversee drainage, excavation, concreting and finishing operations.
• Ensure strict adherence to company and client health and safety requirements and procedures.
• Maintain accurate site records and prepare required reports in a timely manner.
• Liaise effectively with Site Management and subcontractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Monitor and report on productivity levels and quality standards.
• Conduct and deliver toolbox talks and site briefings as required.
• Assist with the planning and coordination of labour, plant and materials.

£21.90 - £24.40 per hour (commensurate with experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of groundworks operations on site, ensuring all works are executed safely and in accordance with the project programme.

Essential Experience and Skills

• Comprehensive understanding of health and safety requirements and legislation
• Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate site teams effectively
• Experience on major infrastructure or civil engineering projects is highly desirable
