Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is recruiting a Groundworker for the National Grid Substation Project at WD25 8DT. The role is on-site with a competitive hourly rate of £17.80–£21.90, depending on experience.

You will carry out groundworks, drainage, concreting and finishing tasks, assist with site prep, operate small plant where authorised, and maintain safety and cleanliness on site. CSCS card and right to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Groundworks experience in construction or civil engineering.
• Strong understanding of site health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable and flexible approach to work.
• Desirable experience in drainage, concreting and general groundworks.

Duties

• Carry out all aspects of groundworks including excavation, drainage, ducting, concreting and finishing works.
• Assist with site preparation and general construction activities.
• Operate small plant and tools where authorised.
• Work safely and in accordance with company procedures and site requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organised working area.
• Follow instructions from Supervisors and Site Management.
• Attend site briefings, toolbox talks and training as required.
• Promote health, safety and environmental standards at all times.

Experience/Skills Required

• Previous groundworks experience within construction or civil engineering environments.
• Good understanding of site health and safety requirements.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable and flexible approach to work.
• Experience in drainage, concreting and general groundworks activities desirable.

Requirements

• Valid CSCS Card.
• Full right to work in the UK.
• Previous construction site experience.
• Ability to travel to the project location.
