Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Groundworker Supervisor for the High Marnham Site in Nottinghamshire. You will directly supervise groundworks operations, ensuring safety, programme compliance and efficient delivery on a major project.

The role requires SSSTS and CSCS, proven supervisory experience, and strong leadership. On-site coordination with subcontractors and site teams, plus adherence to health and safety standards, are essential for success.

Qualifications

• SSSTS qualification essential.
• Valid CSCS card required.
• Demonstrable experience in a Groundworks Supervisory role.
• Proven leadership and communication capabilities.
• Strong health and safety knowledge and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of groundworks on site, ensuring safety and programme adherence.
• Coordinate and manage operatives and subcontractors across multiple fronts.
• Oversee drainage, excavation, concreting and finishing works.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and procedures.
• Maintain accurate site records and timely reports.
• Liaise with Site Management and subcontractors for seamless delivery.
• Monitor productivity and quality standards.
• Deliver toolbox talks and site briefings as required.
• Assist planning and coordination of labour, plant and materials.

Rate

£21.90 - £24.40 Per Hour (commensurate With Experience)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of groundworks operations on site, ensuring all works are executed safely and in accordance with the project programme.
• Coordinate and manage operatives and subcontractors across multiple work fronts.
• Oversee drainage, excavation, concreting and finishing operations.
• Ensure strict adherence to company and client health and safety requirements and procedures.
• Maintain accurate site records and prepare required reports in a timely manner.
• Liaise effectively with Site Management and subcontractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Monitor and report on productivity levels and quality standards.
• Conduct and deliver toolbox talks and site briefings as required.
• Assist with the planning and coordination of labour, plant and materials.

Essential Experience And Skills

• SSSTS qualification (Essential)
• Valid CSCS Card
• Demonstrable previous experience in a Groundworks Supervisory capacity
• Proven leadership and communication capabilities
• Comprehensive understanding of health and safety requirements and legislation
• Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate site teams effectively
• Experience on major infrastructure or civil engineering projects is highly desirable
