Job summary

NGARE EMPLOYMENT SOLUTIONS PTY LTD is seeking experienced Groundwork Handymen for a busy project in Kent. You will join an established gang delivering road formation, preparation and general groundworks to high standards.

Role requires CSCS Groundworker card, safety tickets and a strong track record in groundwork trades. The position provides ongoing work with scope for skilled progression on site.

Qualifications

• Confined Space ticket required
• Safety Critical Medical (site specific)
• CAT & Genny Training desired
• Right to work in the UK essential

Responsibilities

• Carrying out road formation and preparation works to drawings and specs
• Preparing sub-formation, capping layers and Type 1/sub-base
• Setting up trench boxes and pipe lasers
• Installing kerbs, edgings and drainage for road formations
• Laying concrete, clay and plastic pipes to bed and levels
• Carrying out drainage and pipelaying works where required
• Backfilling trenches to specification
• Benching manholes where required
• External works including kerbs, slabs and block paving
• Working safely around live services using proper avoidance techniques

Job description

We are looking for experienced Groundwork Handymen to join our teams on a busy project in Kent.

You will be a skilled all-rounder with experience across road formations, groundworks, externals and associated works, working as part of an established gang to deliver safe and high-quality groundworks.

The main focus of the role will be road formation and preparation, with additional groundwork duties as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carrying out road formation and preparation works to drawings, specifications and required levels
• Preparing sub-formation, capping layers and Type 1/sub-base for roads and access routes
• Setting up and using trench boxes, drag boxes, manhole boxes and pipe lasers
• Installing and working around kerbs, edgings and drainage associated with road formations
• Laying concrete, clay and plastic pipes (all sizes) to correct bed, surround and levels
• Carrying out drainage and pipelaying works where required
• Ensuring correct backfilling of trenches
• Benching of all manholes
• External works including kerbs, edgings, slabs and block paving
• Working safely around live services using correct service avoidance techniques

REQUIREMENTS

• CSCS Groundworker card or similar qualification
• Confined Space ticket
• Safety Critical Medical (site specific)
• CAT & Genny Training
• Reliable, punctual and able to work well with other trades
• Right to work in the UK

DESIRABLE

• CPCS / NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) Forward Tipping Dumper*
• CPCS / NPORS* Ride-On Roller
• Abrasive Wheels Training
• Face Fit Certification
• Harness Awareness Certification
• 5-10+ years of skilled groundworks experience
• Experienced working gangs / teams highly sought after
