Job summary

Coinford Holdings Ltd. is seeking experienced Groundwork Handymen for a busy project in South East London. You will be a versatile joiner of a skilled groundworks gang, carrying out pipelaying, drainage and external works to high standards.

Ideal candidates have CSCS Groundworker cards, Confined Space tickets, and Safety Critical Medical. The role offers ongoing work and opportunities for upskilling on future groundwork and concrete frame sites.

Qualifications

• CSCS Groundworker card is required.
• Confined Space ticket is required.
• Safety Critical Medical (site specific) is required.

Responsibilities

• Setting up trench boxes, drag boxes, manhole boxes and pipe lasers.
• Laying concrete, clay and plastic pipes to bed, surround and levels.
• Ensuring pipes are tested and laid correctly throughout.
• Managing groundwater and selecting the correct pump for the task.
• Backfilling trenches correctly.
• Benching of all manholes.
• External works including kerbs, edgings, slabs and block paving.
• Working safely around live services using proper avoidance techniques.
• Carrying out daily pre-start plant safety inspections.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for experienced Groundwork Handymen to join our teams on a busy project in South East London. You will be a skilled all-rounder capable across pipelaying, deep drainage, externals and external works, working within an established gang to deliver high-quality groundworks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Setting up and using trench boxes, drag boxes, manhole boxes and pipe lasers
• Laying concrete, clay and plastic pipes (all sizes) to correct bed, surround and levels
• Ensuring pipes are tested and laid correctly throughout
• Managing groundwater and setting up the correct pump for the task
• Ensuring correct backfilling of trenches
• Benching of all manholes
• External works including kerbs, edgings, slabs and block paving
• Working safely around live services using correct service avoidance techniques
• Carrying out daily pre-start plant safety inspections

REQUIREMENTS

• CSCS Groundworker card or similar qualification
• Confined Space ticket
• Safety Critical Medical (site specific)
• CAT & Genny Training
• Reliable, punctual and able to work well with other trades
• Right to work in the UK

DESIRABLE

• CPCS / NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) Forward Tipping Dumper*
• CPCS / NPORS* Ride-On Roller
• Abrasive Wheels Training
• Face Fit Certification
• Harness Awareness Certification
• 5-10+ years of skilled groundworks experience
• Experienced working gangs / teams highly sought after
