Job summary

Ayr Racecourse is seeking a motivated Ground Team member to join Scotland’s premier racecourse. This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) is outdoors and focused on preparing the course and surrounding areas for racedays and events.

Responsibilities include turf and ground maintenance, mowing, weed control, hedge cutting, and general upkeep of outdoor spaces. You will work independently and as part of a team, upholding health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience or interest in turf management is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
• Good knowledge of health and safety at work.
• Outdoor work in all weather conditions.

The Role:

You’ll be responsible for carrying out a wide range of duties in preparation for racedays and other major events, as well as day-to-day ground maintenance.

• Mowing, weed control, hedge cutting and trimming
• General upkeep of outdoor areas
• Working independently and as part of a team
• Adhering to health and safety standards at all times

What we’re looking for:

• A positive, motivated attitude
• Experience or interest in turf management
• Enjoys working outdoors in all conditions
• Ability to work both solo and within a team
• Full UK driving licence (preferred)
• Good knowledge of health and safety in the workplace

Qualifications:

• Qualifications in turf management arepreferred but not essential
• PA1 and PA6 spraying certificatespreferred but not essential
