Kemp Recruitment Ltd is seeking a dedicated Groundsperson to maintain sports pitches, playing surfaces and landscaped areas to a high standard. The role focuses on turf maintenance, equipment operation, and supporting fixtures and events throughout the year.

Ideal candidates will have at least two years' experience in grounds maintenance or sports turf, with a strong interest in keeping outdoor facilities in excellent condition.

Qualifikationen

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Groundsperson to take responsibility for maintaining our sports pitches, playing surfaces and landscaped areas to the highest standards.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong background in sports turf and grounds maintenance, particularly experience working on golf courses, cricket grounds, football pitches or other specialist sports facilities.

You will play a key hands-on role in preparing and maintaining sports surfaces, supporting fixtures and events, and ensuring our grounds are presented and maintained to an excellent standard throughout the year.

The Role

Working closely with the Director of Sport and Estates team, you will:

• Maintain and prepare high-quality sports pitches and playing surfaces
• Carry out regular turf maintenance, mowing, marking, aeration and general grounds work
• Support the preparation of grounds for sports fixtures, matches and events
• Assist with the maintenance of sports turf, grass areas and landscaped grounds
• Operate and maintain a range of grounds maintenance machinery and equipment
• Help ensure all sports facilities meet appropriate Health & Safety standards
• Work as part of the grounds team and assist with the supervision of grounds staff
• Maintain the grounds to a consistently high professional standard in all seasons

The Ideal Candidate

We are particularly interested in candidates with practical experience maintaining sports turf or specialist playing surfaces, including experience in one or more of the following:

• Golf courses or golf course turf
• Cricket squares, outfields or cricket grounds
• Football pitches and training grounds
• Other sports fields, pitches or specialist turf environments

You will ideally have a minimum of two years' experience in a grounds maintenance or sports turf position and a genuine interest in maintaining excellent outdoor facilities.

You should be:

• Physically fit and practical
• Organised and reliable
• Adaptable and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Detail-focused, with pride in maintaining high-quality playing surfaces
• A strong team player with good communication skills
• Confident using grounds maintenance machinery and equipment

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' grounds maintenance or sports turf experience
• Experience maintaining sports surfaces / pitches / turf
• Good knowledge of grounds maintenance equipment and machinery
• Understanding of Health & Safety requirements
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong teamwork, reliability and attention to detail

Hours & Benefits

• 40 hours per week, plus fortnightly Saturdays during term time
• Holiday: 35 days
