Job summary

Amey operates at NRS Harwell, Oxfordshire, seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to maintain external spaces and support site operations. Role includes driving duties, equipment operation, and seasonal tasks in a regulated nuclear site context.

You will join a team focused on safety, quality, and customer service, with opportunities for training and progression within Amey’s facilities management portfolio.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence.
• Grounds maintenance experience.
• Experience driving ride-on mowers/tractors.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements and safe working practices.
• Strong communication and customer service.
• Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team.
• Flexible, proactive approach and confidence using mobile technology to record and manage work activities.
• PA1 and PA6 spraying qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality grounds maintenance, including grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance, leaf clearance, litter picking and general upkeep.
• Maintain safe, clean and professional external areas in accordance with the agreed work schedule.
• Operate vehicles, grounds maintenance machinery and equipment safely, following site and Health and Safety requirements.
• Support site logistics and material movements by operating a forklift truck when trained and authorised.
• Carry out gritting and other seasonal duties during adverse weather conditions.
• Respond promptly to customer requests, report site issues and help find practical solutions to queries or concerns.
