Job summary

Amey Harwell is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to maintain safe, clean external spaces and support site operations at NRS Harwell in Oxfordshire. The role includes grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance and occasional forklift duties when trained.

You will work 37 hours per week on a 9-day fortnight pattern, with BPSS security clearance and a full UK driving licence. The team offers training, career progression and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• A full UK driving licence.
• Grounds maintenance experience.
• Experience driving ride-on mowers/tractors.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements and safe working practices.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing as part of a team.
• PA1 and PA6 spraying qualifications.
• Training or practical experience with ride-on mowers, tractors, strimmers and brush cutters.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality grounds maintenance, including grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance, leaf clearance, litter picking and general upkeep.
• Maintain safe, clean and professional external areas in accordance with the agreed work schedule.
• Operate vehicles, grounds maintenance machinery and equipment safely, following site and Health and Safety requirements.
• Support site logistics and material movements by operating a forklift truck when trained and authorised.
• Carry out gritting and other seasonal duties during adverse weather conditions.
• Respond promptly to customer requests, report site issues and help find practical solutions to queries or concerns.
