Job summary

Ground Control in Reading is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join a team delivering high-quality grounds services at Green Park, Reading RG2 6GP. You will perform routine and specialist tasks including grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning, spraying, and litter picking, using and maintaining equipment in a safe, compliant way.

We value a proactive, team-oriented attitude with a solid grounding in health and safety, and a full UK driving licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a grounds maintenance role.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures and safe equipment use.
• Full UK driving licence (preferred) and spraying qualifications/desirable horticultural certification.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and specialist grounds maintenance tasks (grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming, spraying, pruning, litter picking).
• Operate equipment and machinery safely and effectively.

Typical Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

We’re looking for reliable and skilled Grounds Maintenance Operatives to support the delivery of high-quality grounds services at Green Park, Business Park, Reading RG2 6GP.

What you’ll do:

Carrying out routine and specialist grounds maintenance tasks including grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming, spraying, pruning, and litter picking.

Operating a range of equipment and machinery safely and effectively.

Maintaining tools, vehicles, and PPE to a high standard and reporting any defects.

Recording completed work using mobile technology (training provided).

Working collaboratively with your team to meet quality and performance targets.
