Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is hiring a Grounds Maintenance Operative to deliver high standards across outdoor spaces in Reading and Berkshire. This full-time, permanent role offers a 40-hour week and an hourly rate of £13.45.

You will carry out grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance, leaf clearing and winter services, reporting hazards and following safety procedures. A full UK driving license is required, and a PA1/PA6 spray license is a plus.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• Grounds maintenance experience is desirable but not essential.
• PAI & PA6 spraying license is a plus.
• Good understanding of smartphone technology.

Responsibilities

• Carry out grass and hedge cutting, border maintenance, leaf clearing, spraying, and litter picking.
• Operate hand tools and powered horticultural machinery safely and effectively.
• Deliver winter services including gritting, snow clearance, and Christmas tree installation.
• Report site hazards and relevant information to management.
• Follow health and safety procedures and undertake additional training as required.
