Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland's Ground Engineering unit in Kilsyth near Glasgow is seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. You will take commercial ownership of multiple projects, drive reporting and performance, and engage with site teams across Scotland from pre-construction through to delivery and hand-back.

Qualifications

• Successful experience at Quantity Surveyor level with tier 1 or 2 contractors
• Understanding of basic contract law and contractual obligations
• Membership or working towards ICES or similar professional institution
• Open, collaborative approach to support colleagues
• Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
• Mobility to attend sites across Scotland
• Degree-level qualification in Commercial, Construction or Project Management

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial advice and support from pre-construction to hand-back
• Commercial management for dispute avoidance
• Monitor project and departmental costs with operations team
• Prepare monthly cost and value reports including risk management
• Attend site meetings and input to project strategy
• Support change management with client
• Ensure timely production of payment applications
