Job summary

AECOM's Ground Engineering Apprenticeship in the UK offers a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering or Geoscience. You will work with geotechnical engineers and geologists, gaining hands-on experience across projects while studying toward the degree.

The programme includes structured development through GDP/GEO Grounding, with specialist modules and fieldwork as you join a global team delivering infrastructure projects across transportation, water and energy sectors.

Qualifications

GCSEs (Maths and English) at grade 4/C or above required.
Three A-Levels including Maths and a physical science (or BTEC Level 3 in Civil Engineering).
Interest in geology, geotechnics, civil engineering and built environment.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; good written and verbal communication.
Right to work in the UK; ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

Assist with desk studies and site investigations.
Support planning, procurement and supervision of ground investigations.
Help analyse geological and geotechnical data.
Contribute to ground models and interpretative reports.
Assist assessments of foundations, earthworks, slope stability and retaining structures.
Use OpenGround and Leapfrog; participate in site visits across the UK.
