Job summary

Octopus Energy Group is seeking a grid analyst to map, model, and analyse electricity grids across markets. You will perform techno-economic modeling to define optimal resource mixes and assess solutions for grid quality and stability, with a focus on non-wire approaches.

You will contribute to grid development plans, evaluate interconnection queues, and potentially extend into commercial modelling. The role requires strong energy systems knowledge and experience with

Qualifications

• Strong background in energy systems or electrical engineering.
• Experience with grid modeling and non-wire solutions.
• Knowledge of power-flow and optimization methods.
• Experience with energy economics and grid infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Grid assessment: map, analyse and model grids across markets.
• Techno-economic and electrical power flow modeling to define optimal resource mix.
• Technical assessment of grid solutions focusing on non-wire options (flexibility, BESS).
• Develop grid investment plans or IRPs for technical sign-off.
• Analyse grid constraints and interconnection queues.
• Interest in expanding into commercial modelling.
