Job summary

Octopus Energy Group is seeking a grid analyst to map, analyze and model electricity grids across markets. You will develop techno-economic models to optimize resource mixes and support investment plans with a focus on non-wire solutions and grid stability.

You will work with a modern data stack (Python, Databricks, Kubernetes) and collaborate across teams to inform commercial decisions while contributing to the energy transition globally.

Qualifications

• Strong background in energy systems or electrical engineering with power system modeling experience.
• Experience with advanced power-flow modeling and non-linear optimization.
• Knowledge of linear and economic modeling is a plus.
• Experience with DERs and high/medium voltage grids preferred.

Responsibilities

• Grid assessment: map, analyze and model grids across markets to inform capex strategy.
• Develop techno-economic and electrical models to optimize resource mix.
• Assess grid solutions for stability with focus on non-wire options.
• Support grid investment plans and interconnection analysis as needed.
