Job summary

Octopus Energy Group is seeking a quantitative professional to own and build project models for energy assets, price offers and structure deals for datacenter-scale opportunities. You will model generation, storage, and flexible loads, quantify network and energy costs, and develop compelling business cases to support investment decisions.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in a numerate commercial role in infrastructure or renewables
• Experience with DCF, IRR, scenarios and sensitivities in financial models
• Advanced knowledge of GB/European power markets and network costs
• Proficient in Excel and Python for modelling and analysis
• Ability to turn messy problems into clear recommendations

Responsibilities

• Own the project model for opportunities including generation, BESS, flexible load, network costs
• Price the offer considering tariff, PPA, tolling, and availability-based structures
• Value storage and flexible load across wholesale markets and capacity mechanisms
• Develop business cases and prepare proposals and investment documents
• Track portfolio performance and read market developments to support diligence and term sheets
