Job summary

Erewash Borough Council is seeking a Green Space and Street Scene Supervisor to lead Operational Services in the Place Directorate. This hands-on leadership role oversees maintenance, safety, and presentation across parks, play areas, and public spaces to ensure they are welcoming for all residents.

You'll supervise teams, manage grounds maintenance, respond to issues, support borough-wide events, and help improve play areas while ensuring compliance with environmental policies.

Qualifications

• Experience leading grounds maintenance and street scene teams.
• Knowledge of environmental legislation and council policies.
• Ability to respond to issues like fly-tipping and vandalism.

Erewash Borough Council is looking for a dedicated and proactive Green Space and Street Scene Supervisor to join Operational Services in the Place Directorate. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you'll oversee the delivery of high-quality services across parks, play areas, and public spaces - ensuring they are safe, clean, and welcoming for everyone. Your Role:

• Supervise teams working across iconic green spaces like Victoria Park, West Park, and Pewit Coronation Meadows.
• Manage grounds maintenance, play area inspections, sports pitch upkeep, landscaping, and street cleansing.
• Respond to issues such as fly-tipping, vandalism, and safety hazards with practical, timely solutions.
• Support borough‑wide events with traffic management and site preparation.
• Contribute to the design and improvement of play areas and street scene enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and council policies.
• Monitor contractor performance and maintain inspection schedules.
