Job summary

Ethnic Minorities and Youth Support Team in Swansea is seeking a Trainee Green Careers Project Support Officer to help deliver the Green Careers Pathway. You will support participants aged 16-30, work with Employment Coaches, and aid skill development in sustainability and climate resilience.

The role is based in Swansea, requires 35 hours per week and is a fixed-term 1-year contract. DBS check, right to work, and in-person delivery are required.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the issues faced by diverse ethnic minority communities in Wales.
• At least one year's experience working with ethnic minority communities, preferably in Wales.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel across Swansea region.
• Knowledge of Green careers and sustainability.
• Empathise, support and empower clients.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion values.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of Green Careers activities and participant engagement, particularly those from underrepresented groups.
• Learn alongside qualified Employment Coaches through observation, supported practice and supervision.
• Assist with workshops, group sessions and participant engagement activities.
• Help participants access opportunities, training and employment through practical support.
• Develop knowledge of employment coaching, green careers and inclusive practice.
• Support EYST to build its knowledge and understanding of green careers and sustainability.
• Complete project administration tasks.
• Carry out any other duties as required.
