Job summary

EYST is seeking a Trainee Green Careers Project Support Officer in Swansea to help deliver the Green Careers Pathway for young people aged 16-30. This 1-year fixed-term role requires 35 hours per week, in-person delivery, and travel across the Swansea region.

Qualifications

• Essential: Understanding of the issues faced by diverse ethnic minority communities in Wales.
• Desirable: Experience working with ethnic minority communities (preferably in Wales).
• Desirable: Community engagement skills.
• Desirable: Knowledge of green careers and sustainability.
• Desirable: Empathy, support and empowerment of clients.
• Desirable: Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Desirable: Ability to travel across Swansea region.
• Desirable: IT skills including Email, PowerPoint, Word, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of Green Careers activities and participant engagement, especially for underrepresented groups.
• Learn from Employment Coaches through observation, practice and supervision.
• Assist with workshops, group sessions and participant engagement activities.
• Help participants access opportunities, training and employment through practical support.
• Develop knowledge of employment coaching, green careers and inclusive practice.
• Support EYST to build knowledge and understanding of green careers and sustainability.
