Job summary

Dambuster Studios in Nottingham is seeking a Graphic and UI Artist to join our Art team on a Fixed Term Contract until 31/03/2028. You will design and implement our project’s visual language in menus, messaging, and interactions, while creating content that adds depth to the in-game world.

We are looking for a creative artist with strong UI, graphic design, and illustration skills who can adapt to a brief, work at a fast pace, and learn, delivering a high standard for our next project.

Qualifications

  • Memorable portfolio showcasing UI, graphic design, brand identity, and illustration.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Solid understanding of typography and layout.
  • Ability to draw and understand art fundamentals.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement all aspects of our in-game user interface.
  • Create content across game characters, environments, and weapons.
  • Collaborate with artists and engineers to deliver high-quality features.

Graphic and UI Artist (FTC)

Dambuster Studios - creators of the number one BAFTA-nominated smash hit Dead Island 2 - has an exciting opportunity for a Graphic and UI Artist to join our highly talented Art team on a Fixed Term Contract until 31/03/2028.

Role overview

As a Graphic and UI Artist at Dambuster Studios, you will be responsible for designing and implementing our project’s visual language in our game’s menus, messaging and interactions, whilst also creating content that adds depth and richness to our in-game world.

We are looking for a talented artist with strong graphic design and illustration skills. We’re after a creative individual who is passionate about games, who can adapt their style to the needs of a brief, can work at a pace and most of all, has a willingness to learn, that will help us deliver our next project to a fantastic high standard.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement all aspects of our user interface in-game
  • Create memorable in-game content that features across our game’s characters, environment, and weapons
  • Collaborate with artists and developers across all disciplines to help deliver game features to a high level of quality.
Requirements
  • Has a memorable, impactful portfolio that showcases examples of any UI, graphic design, brand identity, and illustration
  • Is proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of typography and layout
  • Can draw, and has an understanding of art fundamentals
  • Is a natural collaborator with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Bonus points for any candidate with:
  • An interest or experience in copywriting or writing
  • An interest in animation or experience creating motion graphics
  • An interest or understanding of UX
  • Experience using a game engine
  • Previous experience in either of the creative, entertainment, or games industries.
