Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting graduates and experienced youth professionals to support children and young people across schools and education settings.

This role is ideal for graduates in Psychology, Child Development, Education or Youth Work seeking practical experience in SEND, SEMH, behaviour or pastoral support. No Teaching Assistant qualification is required. You will work with teachers and pastoral teams to help pupils develop independence and social skills.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree or professional background in education or youth work is desirable.
  • Experience working with children or young people is required or highly valued.
  • Genuine interest in SEND, SEMH, behaviour or child development.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
  • Supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH and behavioural needs.
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with young people.
  • Supporting emotional regulation and confidence in learners.
  • Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and engage with lessons.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in class and corridors.
  • Supporting pupils during lessons and unstructured times in school.
  • Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams.
  • Helping pupils develop independence and social skills.
  • Monitoring engagement and providing feedback to school staff.

Graduate Youth & SEND Support Worker - Education

Primary & Secondary Schools | Full-Time & Long-Term Opportunities | Aspire People

Aspire People are recruiting graduates and experienced youth professionals to support children and young people across schools and education settings.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in Psychology, Child Development, Education, Youth Work, Criminology, Sports Development or a related subject who is looking to gain practical experience working with children and young people.

You do not necessarily need a Teaching Assistant qualification. We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate relevant experience supporting young people and who have a genuine interest in SEND, SEMH, behaviour or pastoral support.

The Role:
