Job summary

Stantec invites applications for a Graduate Water Resources Consultant role in our Brighton office as part of the 2027 Graduate Programme. You will learn through mentoring, training, and collaboration with experts across the UK on diverse water resource projects.

You will develop expertise in water resource investigations, drought planning, and environmental assessments, while contributing to data preparation, reporting, and client deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in geography or environmental-related subject.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with environmental data, GIS, modelling software would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual understanding and modelling water resource availability within complex hydrological and hydrogeological systems.
• Support water abstraction sustainability assessments and investigations into environmental impacts on rivers, wetlands and groundwater-dependent ecosystems.
• Assist with Water Resource Management Plans, drought planning and water resource option development studies.
• Prepare technical reports, datasets and other project deliverables to support client decision-making.
• Collaborate with water companies, regulators, engineers, planners and environmental specialists to support successful project delivery.
• Apply project management principles to support delivery within budgets, programmes and scopes.
