Job summary

Howden in Glasgow is launching a 2027 graduate Trainee Actuarial Consultant – Retirement. The program includes extensive on-the-job training, study support, and a dedicated training team to guide you through the early stages of your actuarial career.

You will work directly with clients, develop technical and communication skills, and have opportunities to gain exposure across actuarial and employer consulting teams on a variety of pension-related projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent.
• A strong maths background (A-Level/Higher Maths).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Support actuarial services for defined benefit pension schemes.
• Perform actuarial calculations and data processing for valuations.
• Collaborate with consultants to assess client objectives and prepare reports.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to presentations.
• Assist in building the firm’s capabilities across areas of actuarial consulting.
