Job summary

You will assist with the preparation and submission of planning applications, research planning policy, review Local Plans and engage with Local Planning Authorities. This permanent role provides professional development and a clear path to eligibility for RTPI membership.

Qualifications

• RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline.
• Interest in UK planning system and development processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good research and analytical abilities.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and submission of planning applications across development sectors.
• Support preparation of Planning Statements, appraisals, reports and other planning docs.
• Undertake research into planning policy, legislation, guidance and local planning matters.
• Review Local Plans, emerging policy documents and planning committee reports.
• Assist with site appraisals and identify key planning opportunities, constraints and risks.
• Support strategic land promotion through Local Plan process.
• Monitor planning applications, appeals, Local Plan examinations and policy changes.
• Assist with pre-application submissions and engagement with Local Planning Authorities.
