Job summary

ABB Motion is seeking a graduate or early-career Tendering Engineer in Warrington. You will support technical and commercial proposals, review customer specs, and help develop cost estimates for ABB Motion Service opportunities.

You will collaborate with engineering, sales, project and service teams to gather bid information, ensuring timely, accurate submissions while developing your technical and commercial knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Recent graduate or early-career engineer interested in tendering, sales support, or commercial engineering.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret technical information.
  • Proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Proactive mindset and willingness to learn, take ownership, and drive improvement.
  • Strong organisational skills; manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of electric motors, drives, or industrial automation technologies.

  • Assist in developing cost estimates, quotations, and tender submissions balancing customer needs with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, project and service teams to gather bid information.
  • Ensure proposals are accurate, professionally presented and submitted on time.
  • Participate in technical discussions and customer meetings where appropriate.
  • Maintain tender documentation, opportunity records, and internal systems for reporting.
  • Continuously develop technical, commercial, and industry knowledge through training and mentoring.

Tendering Engineer

In this role, you will support the preparation of competitive, high-quality bids and proposals for customers mainly across the UK within ABB's Motion Service (MOSE) business. This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or early-career engineer to develop both technical and commercial skills while working alongside experienced professionals and contributing to solutions that help customers improve reliability, efficiency, and performance.

Your role and responsibilities

Work model: Daresbury, Warrington (Office-based)

  • Support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals for ABB Motion Service opportunities.
  • Review customer enquiries, specifications, and project requirements, working closely with experienced team members.
  • Assist in developing cost estimates, quotations, and tender submissions that balance customer requirements with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, project and service teams to gather information required for bid submissions.
  • Ensure proposals are accurate, professionally presented, and submitted within agreed deadlines.
  • Participate in technical discussions and customer meetings where appropriate.
  • Maintain tender documentation, opportunity records, and internal systems to ensure accurate reporting and effective knowledge sharing.
  • Continuously develop your technical, commercial, and industry knowledge through training, mentoring, and hands‑on experience.
  • Contribute ideas for process improvements and support the team's commitment to operational excellence.

Qualifications for the role
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Recent graduate or early-career professional interested in engineering, tendering, sales support, or commercial engineering.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical information and develop practical solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • A proactive mindset with a willingness to learn, take ownership, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of electric motors, drives, or industrial automation technologies.
  • Previous internship, placement, or project experience within an engineering environment.
