Job description

Full-time | From £93 per day | Start: ASAP Are you a recent graduate looking to build experience in education, psychology, or mental health? Axcis Education is working in partnership with a number of mainstream primary and secondary schools in the Birmingham area, and we're looking for full-time Graduate Learning Support Assistants to start ASAP. This role is all about supporting pupils that require 1-1 support with their learning. Some of these pupils will have special educational needs such as autism, ADHD and challenging behaviour. You'll be working closely with individual students in the classroom and helping them stay engaged, encouraging their confidence, and offering calm, consistent support throughout the day. You don't need school experience. As long as you have either voluntary or professional experience with additional needs, we want to hear from you! What we're looking for is someone who's empathetic, reliable, and genuinely wants to support vulnerable young people. If you're kind, patient and keen to make a difference, we'll give you the training and guidance you need.

Why this is a great first step in your career:
  • No unsociable hours – work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm
  • Get paid weekly – from £93 per day
  • Looks great on your CV – ideal if you're considering teacher training, educational psychology or youth work
  • Free access to a wide range of training through the Axcis Academy
  • Real, hands-on experience supporting students with additional needs

These roles start ASAP and run full-time during term time, with the opportunity to become permanent after an initial settling-in period. If you're a graduate ready to take your first step into education, mental health or support work, and you want a job where you can make a genuine difference, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise.

Axcis is an equal opportunities employer and as such we do not discriminate based on age, gender, disability, race or any other equal opportunities criteria.

The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As such, you will be required to provide an up to date DBS, or be prepared to allow Axcis to process one on your behalf, in addition to other mandatory compliance checks in line with the DfE guidelines (for details please see our website).

If the position you are applying for involves working with children or vulnerable adults, this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974.

Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions.

You must be suitably qualified for the position advertised and be prepared to attend a face to face interview with Axcis to demonstrate your suitability for this role.

Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
