Graduate Teaching Assistant
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Location: Blackpool, Lancashire
Start Date: September 2025

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Blackpool. This role is ideal for recent graduates who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and are considering a future career in education, psychology, or youth work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs in both group settings and on a one-to-one basis.
  • Assist teaching staff with lesson delivery, behaviour support, and classroom management.
  • Help to create a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement through consistent routines and clear boundaries.
  • Adapt learning materials and strategies to meet individual student needs.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree.
  • A genuine interest in working with young people who require additional support.
  • Patience, resilience, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond positively to challenging behaviour.
  • Any experience in an educational, care, or youth setting is desirable but not essential.
