Job summary

KPI Education is partnering with a Reading secondary school to appoint a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the 2026/27 academic year. Based in Reading, Berkshire, the role offers £25,000 per annum and a full-time, 1-year fixed-term contract starting September 2026.

You will work with experienced teachers to support pupils, deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions, and contribute to pastoral care and behaviour management while gaining exposure to teacher training pathways.

Qualifications

• Degree from a UK university and genuine interest in education.
• Ambition to develop classroom and pastoral skills.
• Enthusiasm, reliability and proactive communication with young people.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils during classroom lessons
• Delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions
• Helping students prepare for assessments and examinations
• Supporting pupils who require additional academic help
• Assisting teachers with classroom activities
• Providing mentoring and pastoral support
• Helping maintain positive behaviour and engagement
• Supporting extracurricular and revision sessions
